Joey Hipolito is an Assistant General Counsel at the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union in Washington, DC working on litigation, legislative initiatives, organizing, and other worker advocacy.   Prior to this, he was a transactional attorney at Davis, Polk, & Wardwell LLP in Silicon Valley.  

 

Joey graduated from UC Berkeley School of Law, was the Managing Editor of the California Law Review, and later clerked for Judge Rosemary Barkett on the 11th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.  His writing on immigrant workers and criminal justice has been published in the Asian American Law Journal, La Raza Law Journal, and the California Law Review.  He has served on the boards of the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, the East Bay Community Law Center, the Berkeley Law Foundation, and Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild.
